Tips For Working With A Travel Agent

When you set out to work with a travel agent, you are going to want to have everything as clear as possible. The first thing you need to realize is that while the travel agent is working for you, he or she is not a mind reader. In order for you to get all of the services that you want, you’re going to have to spell them out very clearly.
The first thing you need to do is get everything in writing. Promised services should not be verbally delivered; you want written confirmation of all of the arrangements that you’re making so that everyone’s on the same page.
If you get a good travel agent, they will act as your advocate and resolve any complaints that you might occur between you and any third parties that you might be dealing with. If something is not to your liking, you can get a good travel agent who could negotiate the situation for you or get your money back for any bad experience you might have. This is all possible only if you get all promised services delivered in written form so that you can refer back to it, and there’s no misunderstanding.
Be sure and read the fine print also called the terms and conditions. Now, we all know that this isn’t the most exciting thing to read, and that the slick, pretty, glossy pictures in the brochure are a lot more fun to look at.
However, if you don’t read the fine print, you going to miss any potential headaches. The time to find out there is something you don’t like is before you go on the trip, and not when the deposit and payment are due.
The fine print includes things like payment due dates, penalties for cancellation, and the way the travel orders are going to be processed, if there are any gratuities or additional fees that will be tacked onto your trip costs. There will also be a listing of procedures that you can go through if you have a complaint or you need a refund. If there’s any vacation protection insurance, the options will be listed in this section, too.
If travel protection insurance is not part of your vacation package, you go to want to buy a policy from an insurance company.
These policies are also available through airline, cruise companies or tour operations, but these can be chancy as they may go out of business before you ever go on your trip. If you don’t want to be left holding the bag, make sure your trip insurance is airtight.

The capital of Belgium is Brussels. Antwerp is another one of the larger cities of Belgium and was once know as the diamond capital of the world due to the craftsmanship of diamond cutting there in historical times. Due to the damp nature of Belgium, it is recommended that you always bring wet weather clothing as it is almost guaranteed that you will get wet unless you go in the spring or summer. The landscape is coastal plains and forest. The main languages spoken here are Dutch, Flemish, French and German with Dutch and French being the most common.
Culture
Most all Belgians speak English so if that is you native language you will not have any problems in being understood. If you are having problems reading the street signs and such, all you need to do is ask directions and you will get help. If you have an opportunity to get an invitation to a dinner or party at a locals home, make sure to bring a gift, flowers are customary, and dress as the invitation states, it is a breach of etiquette to not dress appropriately.
Dining
For those who have never traveled to Belgium before, you may be surprised to find that the main specialty of the country is horse meat and rabbit. This may be a little off putting to any who have never tried this before but it is a favorite of locals. There are many other dishes to choose from for even those with the most discerning palate and there are more culinary options available than just horse and rabbit. Of course all restaurants will have meals for the vegetarian if you so choose. It is practice to add a gratuity when dining out. If you attend a movie, it is also the norm to give the attendant a small gratuity as well in the wash room.
How to get around the country
If you want to travel through the country, taking the train is your best bet. You can get many connecting trains to other destinations in Europe from Belgium. You must book your train in advance so make sure you have a good itinerary before you get to Belgium so that you will not be disappointed. You can purchase an Inter-Rail pass that will allow you to travel on pass to most destinations in Europe. This option, however, is only available for travelers from Europe that have established residency for at least six months.
Budget Tips For Your Vacation

Before you go anywhere, you want to know exactly how much the total trip is going to cost. You need to plan your budget before you book the first airline reservation. In order to be successful and have a worry free experience, you need to build a comprehensive budget covering every aspect of your trip from local and long-distance transportation, hotel accommodations, food, beverages and entertainment to odd incidentals and things local to the vacation destination. You’re also going to want to add extra money for any shopping, and if you want to bring back souvenirs. After you’ve made up a budget ads another $100-$200 to your approximate budget for odds and ends.
Take the time to buy a current guidebook about the place that you’re headed. Having a good travel guidebook should give you a better idea about the price of local transportation, what it costs to buy coffee or beer, how much it should cost you for concert ticket and the like. You also want to call the local tourist office for the place that you’re going to get local information. Buy a local magazine and go to a website that specializes in your destination to do research so that you are prepared prior to arrival.
Before you leave, double-check everything including your hotel accommodations, airline reservations and any event reservations that you’ve made. You don’t want to wind up at your vacation destination only to find out that your hotel no longer exists or that some event that you paid for is no longer happening.
Before you leave home, make a call to the hotel just to make sure that the reservation time, and the amount of money quoted per night is still in effect. Call the hotel directly and not the 1-800 reservation line, because sometimes there’s a difference between what you will learn on the 800 line and what the hotel actually tells you.
Check out incidental things before you leave, like surcharges on phone calls, any local taxes, if you need visas, departure or entry fees, hidden gratuities and the like. All of these things add up, and you want to make sure that you have enough money to cover everything so that you can have a fun and stress-free time.
If you have booked an all-inclusive hotel stay at a resort, make sure you find out what that covers. For example, wine may come with dinner, but you may have to pay for hard liquor. You want to determine what prices are going to be beforehand, so that you don’t arrive with too little money to have a good time.

Last Minute Flights

If you are a well-informed, frequent flyer ,you probably already know several ways of getting tickets at an inexpensive price at the last minute. Here are some more tips that can get use to get last minute airfare cheaply.
One of the easiest ways is to go for the tickets that remain unsold at the airlines were they have last-minute cancellations or there aren’t enough passengers. Airlines always want to fly full planes because the fuel cost the same to fly one person as it does to fly 50 people. Many airlines don’t want to burden themselves with pricing these tickets or flying empty planes, so they will willingly sell them off at lower prices. What you need to do is visit airline websites looking for the sorts of deals. You can also check with a travel agent who also keeps a stock of cheap flights that are last minute and see if you can contact them a few hours prior to when you want to leave.
Another way of getting cheap flights at the last minute is to approach one of the courier services. Many reputable courier services have packages that need to be delivered all over the world. If they are shorthanded, which most of them usually are, you can offer your services to deliver the package for them. If you choose your destination, you can get a free ticket from the courier service, deliver the package and then go on your way.
Having frequent flyer miles is also good. If you’re an air miles member sometimes the airline will send you an e-mail alert if they have last-minute tickets that they want to sell cheaply. When you get the alert, you simply call them up, and you’re ready to fly at the last minute. However, you need to move quickly or you might lose your cheap flight ticket before you get your hands on it.
Many flights routinely sell unsold tickets at low rates. Many expert travelers say that this is one of the best ways to get cheap flights at the last minute. You can combine these with your reward points, and depending on how many of them you have, you might even be able to fly completely free.
Another place to get cheap flights at the last minute is to look at newer or lesser-known airlines. While they may be new or not known to well that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are poor quality. They may have low-priced tickets simply as a promotion piece, and that’s a good option where you can purchase last minute flights at low prices. You can also become an air-miles reward holder on some of the smaller airline services who usually have a continuous flood of good offers from which you can choose.
Find The Cheapest Airfare

Let’s face it, airline tickets are expensive. Anybody who’s flown on a regular basis knows that the object of the game is to try to keep your cost of flying at a minimum. The key to getting lower airfares is flexibility. You can save a bundle, if you don’t insist on leaving and returning at a specific date and are flexible enough to move your date of departure backwards or forwards and your day of return likewise.
If you’re willing to travel at a time that’s convenient to the airlines, you can save money on airfares. Another thing you need to do is shop online. There are a lot of websites on the Internet now that specialize in giving travelers the lowest fares out there. Just be sure and read the fine print and read all the conditions and fees associated with buying an airline ticket from that website.
Instead of flying into the airport where of your destination, you might want to try flying into a neighboring, smaller airport. If you can avoid main hubs and use a nearby airport, you can actually cut your airfare costs considerably. Plan on buying your ticket ahead of time. Don’t wait until the last minute purchase your tickets. You will want to buy them as far in advance as possible, although two weeks beforehand is still considered best.
Track fare prices online. There are many travel sites that offer a plethora of tools to help people track airfare rates over a period of time. All you need to do is download one of these tools, and they will keep you up-to-date on the prices of the flight you plan on taking sometime in the future.
Think about flying on days where there aren’t a lot of holiday travelers. Most people prefer to fly one day before a holiday and return the day after. So, you can reduce your airline ticket costs simply by flying two days before and coming back a little later.
When you fly to Europe always stop in London. It’s less expensive to fly from the United States to London, and then take another flight to a different area in Europe. If you want to lower your total airfare, make your first stop, London, and then your next flight to wherever you want to go. This also works in reverse.
Check out those package deals. Many travel agencies offer flights that include hotel accommodations and a car rental. If you bundle all three in a package, you will wind up paying less overall.

Your dream of traveling, by RV, is finally a reality! Now you need a little guidance for planning your first RV trip. Below are a number of important tips which focus on planning and preparation, helping to ensure that your RV trip is just how you imagined it would be.
If you don’t already own one, your first step would be to make the arrangements to obtain one. A popular option for first time RV travelers is that of renting, just be sure to book your reservations as soon as possible. This is particularly true when your rental options are limited.
If you own an RV or if you are in the process of buying one, be sure to have it inspected by a professional mechanic, before your trip, this is extremely important for long distance trips. Also be sure to include RV insurance, or at least roadside assistance, on your vehicle’s policy.
Now decide where you want to go. Having a set path to follow will help you from getting lost or running into trouble along the way, even if you were just are interested in visiting friends and family, you will most likely want to make a few stops along the way. For safety sake, always notify the friends and family, staying back home, of your plans on where you will be going and for how long you will be gone.
Always check to see what reservations need to be made. Examine your overnight accommodations. Do you plan to stay at a hotel or will you be staying in your RV? Both options may require making reservations. Remember if you plan to camp out, you will want to be sure the park or public campground will accommodate your RV..
Always walk through the RV. Examine the kitchen area. What items will you need in preparing snacks and food? What about the bathroom area? Be sure to bring health and beauty products, such as soap, toothpaste and toilet tissue, as well as towels and washcloths. Buying and packing your supplies as soon as possible, enables you to make last minute adjustments when needed.
Finally, when you take the time to properly plan and prepare for an RV trip, especially when traveling for the first time, you are more likely to enjoy yourself and worry less.

If you weren’t already aware, there are a number of different beauty supplies that are prohibited from being stored in your carry on luggage. Before you head to the airport, you are encouraged to familiarize yourself with these items.
These items most commonly include liquid deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioners, hand sanitizers, and all liquid hair products. All of these banned items include liquid based formulas, such as liquid foundation, liquid skincare creams, liquid mascara, and liquid lip products. Although a large number of liquid beauty supplies are prohibited from being stored in carry on luggage bags, there are a few exceptions.
These liquid exceptions include prescriptions that are prescribed to you and certain eye care products. If you are wearing your contacts or have eye problems, you are allowed to carry small amounts of eye drops or saline solution with you. These items must be no larger than four ounces each. By the way, it is important to note that both nail polish and nail polish remover are included in the, above mentioned, liquid ban. Nail care items that you can bring aboard an airplane with you, in your carry on luggage, including nail clippers, nail cuticle cutters, and nail files.
If you need to carry any other beauty products with you, it is likely that you will focus on eye care. As previously mentioned, small amounts of saline solution and eye drops are permitted on board an airplane, in your carry on luggage. Although you may think it is banned, you are permitted to carry eye glass repair kits with you. These kits are allowed, despite the fact they do have a small number of sharp objects in them.
Now that you know which common beauty supplies or products are allowed or are not allowed to be stored in your carry on luggage, you can pack accordingly. In the event that you try to sneak, the above mentioned, prohibited items into your bag, you may be at risk for being detained by airport security.
Although there is a chance that you may be detained by airport security or miss your flight, due to being tied up at a security checkpoint, you will find that those are the most serious consequences. As a woman, you should know that many of these items do not come cheap. Therefore, instead of wasting your hard earned money, you are advised to think wisely and plan ahead.

In this day in age, it seems as if all individuals have at least once piece of electronic equipment with them, often at all times. If you are one of the individuals that regularly travels around with one or more of these electronic items, there is a good chance that you will be taking them with you when you board an airplane.
When it comes to determining which electronics are prohibited aboard an airplane, you will find that almost all are allowed. Despite this allowance, it is still a good idea that you check with your airline or airport, in advance. Many individuals keep a cell phone or pager with them at all times. All cell phones and pagers are permitted aboard airplanes. In addition to being permitted on board, they are allowed to be stored in your carry on luggage. Your cell phone or pager, like most other electronic equipment, will be suspect to inspection, if need be.
Laptops and personal data assistants are also permitted aboard airplanes. You are also allowed to store them in your carry on luggage. If stored in your carry on luggage, your laptop or personal data assistant machine will need to be scanned along with the rest of your carry on luggage. While the screening process is safe for most electronic equipment, it isn’t for all.
There is a chance that your film, especially film that has yet to be developed, could be ruined by the x-ray machines. They have alternative ways of checking your camera or film equipment. Other recording devices, such as digital cameras or camcorders, are also permitted aboard an airplane, even in your carry on luggage.
As previously mentioned, many of the above mentioned electronics can either be stored in your carry on luggage or your checked baggage. If you are able to store the items in your carry on luggage, you are advised to do so. In addition to a reduction in damage, most airlines are restricting the use of baggage locks. This means that it may be unwise for you to store expensive equipment in your checked baggage, especially if you cannot lock it.
By keeping the above mentioned information in mind, you should be able to pack correctly for your next trip, whether or not that trip is a business trip. Although most airlines do not have restrictions on the electronic equipment that you bring on board, you will find that the use of these items is often restricted.
