Are You On A No Fly List?

Every day millions of Americans fly to various destinations around the country and abroad. Although most of these people don’t have a problem, there are a few that run into problems after 9/11. One of the problems that a person may find they have is that they have been added to the airport no-fly list.

The no-fly list was designed to stop people from flying who might be a hazard or thought to be dangerous, for one reason or another. However, in recent years, there have been a number of individuals who were mistakenly placed on the no-fly list. These mistakes happen because of misspelled names and identities that appear to be the same as a person who is dangerous.

For instance, if you have the name John Smith, you might be placed on the no-fly list, because there are a number of John Smiths whose name is bogus. You may not be bogus, however. there may be 10 other John Smiths out there who are looking to doing something wrong while flying.

So what do you do about it? You can get your name taken off of the no-fly list, but you should remember that you’re dealing with bureaucracy, and nothing happens overnight with the government.

If you’re notified that you are on the no-fly list at the airport, you can be certain that you won’t be able to board an airplane and fly. Airport security can’t take your word for it that you are not at risk. If you go to the airport, airport security might even detain you, which of course leads to a bigger hassle. What’s you’re released, you will then be able to take steps to have your name removed from the no-fly list. But, know this; you definitely won’t be flying anytime soon.

The first thing you’re going to need to do in order to get your name off of the no-fly list is to contact the Transportation Security Administration or the TSA. You will be provided with contact information by airport security. You need to make that call as soon as possible, or visit the Transportation Security Administration website, where you can easily get a phone number and information about who to call as well as information that allows you to order forms to be mailed to you to fill out.

When you get the forms, you can fill them out and submit them with three pieces of identification. The accepted types of identification include your drivers license, a military card, Social Security or voter registration card, your passport or birth certificate. After submitting all the required documents, you will have to wait for the government to process them and remove you from the no-fly list.

This could take up to a few months, or as little as a couple of weeks, so if you’re planning on traveling you will want to get started with this early on. Once your name is removed, you will once again be able to fly.

In order to tack down what you actually where you wind up vacationing, you need to look at your dream vacation and then your cheap vacation and see how they compare. Think about the idea of where you would vacation if you could have anything that you want and go anywhere that you want.

Then, you need to look at the cheapest vacation that you can stand besides being at home and try and shoot for something in the middle.

The next thing you need to consider is the number of people in your party. If you’re a bunch of adults going somewhere together, you have more options. If you’re going on vacation with adults, find out who can chip in on the financial expenses and the amount per person. You will probably need to have a meeting to nail things down.

After you figure out how much you can spend, you need to decide, whether you’re going to spend it on a vacation in the islands, domestic or international or somewhere inland. The amount of time that you’re going to spend on vacation is your next decision. You may look towards a less fancy spot if you want more time to relax. You then need to think about what is important to you, whether it be luxury accommodations, spa services, or adventurous activities. Do you want to have fun inside or outdoors. These are just some of the things you need to consider when planning a vacation.

Don’t be afraid to ask people for suggestions. After all, everyone has been on a vacation at some point in their life and will have an opinion and advice about the various places they visited. All you need do is ask, and you surely will receive a plethora of different perspectives on various places around the world.

As you ask different people different things about vacations, you will begin to see a pattern emerge. In this way, you will begin to realize the places that you don’t want to visit, because too many people who you have talked to will have had a bad experience. This is just a start to the things that you’ll need to do in order to plan a fun filled vacation that you won’t soon forget.

Safe Traveling For Pets

Most people who travel like to be able to include their pets when they go on vacation. However, there are some things you should be aware of if you want to include your four-footed family member with you. Whether you’re traveling with a cat or dog or some other family pet, you want them to be cared for and to arrive in the same condition that they left in. However, you also don’t want to take a sick pet with you.

In order to travel with your pet you need to carry proof of the animal’s license and proof of vaccination against rabies and distemper is traveling within the lower 48. If it is necessary to pass through Canada in order to reach Alaska, be sure to check the regulations that are being enforced in the Canadian province you’re about to travel through, as well as any that may be enforced by the state of Alaska.

Bringing your animal with you to Hawaii will require that the animal be quarantined for a minimum of six months, even though you’re coming from the United States and have documentation as listed above. Due to the exorbitant boarding costs you will encounter if you try to bring your dog with you, you might find it actually cheaper to board your dog locally where you live, or find other arrangements. While you might want your dog to see Hawaii, it might not be financially feasible for them to do so. You might just have to settle for showing them pictures and videos when you get back.

One recent development that is currently being fought by the residents of Ontario, Canada is a recent legislation that was put into place which requires that you prove that your dog does not have any pit bull in his lineage. This is a difficult point to prove, especially if the dog is not a registered purebred. There has been heated debate over this development, because trying to prove the lineage of your dog can be difficult if not impossible. If your dog is a mixed breed. People also think that it’s unfair to judge all dogs based on a few bad apples.

Under the auspices of this regulation, a customs official has the option of using the dog on the spot if in his/her opinion it appears to have pit bull in his bloodline. The dog is then taken to be euthanized, and there seems to be no mechanism in a way that regulation is written to allow the owner to get the dog back.
